Hello all, I’m an American in his thirties living in south-central Pennsylvania, USA. I grew up in a conservative evangelical Christian household. In my late teens I slowly began to question my religious beliefs and I finally “moved on” from a belief in God in my mid-twenties. I’ve struggled with something called Social Anxiety Disorder most of my life, but recently I’ve had a dramatic improvement in my condition thanks to the efficacy of a drug called sertraline.
I’m fascinated by scientific topics like emergence and bottom-up design. Bottom-up design, Darwin’s strange inversion of logic, is counter-intuitive to the human mind, but it’s been proven beyond a reasonable doubt that this is exactly how the universe operates. I’ve also become very interested in human psychology. Understanding the human brain is one of the final frontiers of science and I love learning about how the brain and mind work.
So, anyway, in this blog I explore topics like science, religion, politics, technology, and humor. I welcome any feedback that you may have. If you’d like to contact me directly, you can reach me at SciAwakening[at]gmail[dot]com. Thanks for stopping by!
